About Amarna
“There is a life force within your soul, seek that life. There is a gem in the mountain of your body, seek that mine. O traveller, if you are in search of that, don’t look outside, look inside yourself and seek that.”
-Rumi
Amarna was born and raised in Geelong. As a young child, she was always able to connect and communicate with the spirit world and higher beings, to have clear visions, and able to travel into different lifetimes and realms. It was only when she was older that Amarna understood that this was a gift within her lineage with relatives that were community healers in the Philippines. The name of these healers were traditionally named Babaylans (Shaman). Also having a lineage of gifted healers through her Portuguese ancestry.
At the tender age of 10, Amarna lost her sister to suicide. This deeply affected her, to the point that she made a promise and commitment that she would try and assist people in their time of need. This profound loss led her to study and gain qualifications in Youth Work, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Mental Health and is currently in the midst of completing her Counselling Diploma.
Amarna has worked as a Professional Mental Health Worker since 2012 specialising in trauma, abuse and high-risk youth. Outside of her work in the Community Mental Health field, she received her Yoga Teacher accreditation and procured qualifications in Trauma Sensitive Yoga in 2017. Amarna began learning Astrology in 2018 and thus started her passion in this field. It was in 2019 where Amarna met her mentor Asharni Arlae, a leading Australian Astrologer who has revolutionised how Astrology is taught and understood. Asharni has played a major role in Amarna's life trajectory. In the time she met Asharni, Amarna gained qualifications in her Astrology studies, becoming a Professional Astrologer and Teacher herself, completed the Tree of Life Kabbalah (TOLK) and now in the midst of becoming a TOLK Teacher. Amarna has also completed her Reiki Mastership, met and studied under Kachina Ma’aan the founder of Pellowah and became a certified Pellowah Teacher herself. Amarna then went onto learn other healing modalities such as Access Bars, Umana Technique, Violet Flame, Arbah, Tarot, and Past Life Assimilation.
Amarna's great love is Astrology, in particular working and connecting with Mythology and Goddess Astrology (Asteroids, Dwarf Planets & also Venus). Amarna has also been doing personal research into Goddess Astrology in hopes of writing a book on this subject. Since 2018 Amarna has attended countless workshops and courses in Astrology and also with working with higher beings honing in and elevating her spiritual gifts. A perpetual student at heart.
Amarna has been heavily influenced by Psychologists who incorporated Astrology into their practices - Carl Jung, Howard Sasportas and Stephen Arroyo.
During this time, in her professional work life, Amarna noticed that there was a large gap missing in the mental health field where Spiritually was not discussed due to fears of the implications and repercussions it might have. From this, Amarna decided to apply for a community grant to create a 6-week holistic program that bridged mental health and spirituality in a safe and welcoming environment where people could delve into their experiences, and beliefs with curiosity, whilst simultaneously learning new techniques for healing. The program was a success which furthered her drive to create an ongoing supportive space.
Amarna started working with clients who were open to incorporating Astrology into their sessions. As with the program she created, there were profound changes and shifts within the people she was working with. Seeing themselves in another light, and understanding their journey was the shift they needed to assist them on their healing path.
It was then that she made another commitment, to assist in bridging the Western and Esoteric ways of healing. Bringing together her years of experience in the field of Mental Health and her vast knowledge of Esoteric, Astrology and Holistic healings. The birth of Integrative Astrology Therapies was born. Still in its infancy, Amarna has big aspirations and plans.
Other than her great love of Astrology, Mythology, and her passion for Community Mental Health, Amarna also enjoys yoga, philosophy, photography, pottery, spending time in nature and spending time with her beautiful daughter.
“I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.”
